Research shows us that incorrect footwear is a contributing factor in various injuries from foot and ankle injuries to knee, hip and back pain. What shoes should I be wearing? The type of shoe you should be wearing is dependent on the activity you are participating in, the terrain of the activity, the size and shape of your foot, your individual biomechanics and of course, your personal preference.
The correct shoe should fit the dimensions of your feet, support (and not restrict) your bodies natural biomechanics, be appropriate for your activity and feel comfortable. This will ensure all day comfort, decrease injury risk and maximise your performance.
Both Bill and Jordan have a personal interest in footwear technology, this allows them to keep up to date with the newest technologies and advancement in footwear. They pride themselves on staying up to date with the latest research and developments in the footwear space and are perfectly placed to give you advise on specific shoes based on your activity, biomechanics, your performance goals and your injury history.
Both Podiatrists have close professional relationships with many of the leading footwear companies and are routinely asked to test their latest and greatest shoes. “But I don't want to wear 'ugly' shoes?” Of course, your shoes need to be appropriate for your activity but we recognise the importance of wearing shoes that suit the corporate, social or physical activity you are partaking in. If you are in a formal corporate environment, we will suggest shoes to suit this. Similarly, if you are a university student, we will provide options that won’t make you look dowdy.
We know our shoes and will have an abundance of brand options and styles for you to consider.
